Its still a little early, but anyone else getting in the mood for a walk in the woods?  We normally start finding blacks by the end of the month in years we find them at all.  What are your experiences?

Well, got out yesterday but only found one   :-[

What do you all think?  Are they done, or is it still too early?  I've not heard of anyone finding doggies yet, and they seem to always be around at the end of April.

Brad,  It has definately been a strange mushroom season around my part of the state.  I've been hunting morels for quite a few years and they have always emerged in this order around here:  blacks first, then doggies followed shortly by yellows.  The few greys I find are generally found in the middle span of this.  This year I've not seen a single black or doggie.  The yellows showed up way early and I'll probably go look in the am, but won't be surprised if they are done.  If any more are coming up this rain should get them out of the ground, but who knows.  I do know that in another week they'll be hard to spot cause most of the green plants are getting tall.

Same here.  Blacks, then greys and doggies about the same time as the blacks are finishing up, then then about half way through the doggies and greys the yellows start to show up.

Like you said, I didn't find any greys or doggies at all, and haven't heard of any.  Everyone is talking about yellows...and the one I found was a yellow in one of my doggie and grey patches.
