I am not certain at the moment what the price of cultivated is.  The last I knew it was under $25 / pound

How much do you have?

I might be able to help you depending on quantity.

I have between 50 and 70 lbs of un-dug cultivated sang under my tarped area.

My wife and I went to Wisconsin 4 years ago and talked to a ginseng farmer. He had about 5 acres under tarps and he said he was a small time farmer. Some have as much as a 100 acres growing.
So I came back and put a 30' by 60' area under tarps. I'm an extremely small time sang farmer compared to the WI. growers.
I planted mine in the fall of 2009.

Yes, some have more and some less.  I have one friend who keeps 120 acres under shade.  Plants and harvests 30 acres a year.  I"ll check on the desirability of the cultivated in small quantity.  I might have a market for it fresh.  I would really like to see a picture of a couple of the typical roots so that I can judge character and size.

Yes.  But I would prefer you use brad@emeraldcastlefarms.com

What seems to be going wrong?  Are you getting any error messages?

As I get some more time....I'll put up info pages on some of the fungicides available for use on ginseng in the US.  I want to make some conversion charts and such based on the labels as a resource for everyone.

I wouldn't worry about it now of course, but next spring I"d start preemergence with Kocide, then at 50% leaf Dithane, and 100% leaft Dithane again...and if the weather stays cool and wet...add Ridomil in there too so you have some protection from soil borne pathogens like cylindrocarpon and phytopthora  (ignore me if I've spelled them wrong 8)  )  After that, I normally use Kocide and Dithane for blight, but I'm much more worried about root rot so rotate in Alliette and Ridomil too.
