Deer control
« on: May 16, 2019, 02:30:30 PM »
I have found a decent amount of wild ginseng, on
my property this spring so far, since it's private my only competition for sustaining a nice wild patch is the deer.
My question is will a cayenne pepper and garlic mix harm the plant at all?

I don't know anyone who has tried that and I am not certain if it would have any negative side effects to the ginseng itself.

I've heard of using a tobacco pesticide of sorts, I wonder if that might make the ginseng taste nasty enough to deer to leave it alone.  In my own experience (as related in my book)  the key is to convince the deer they don't want to go where your ginseng is (or in this case to eat it).
